Positions Available for Dog Walker/Pet Sitter  

Must live on the Eastside and have own car

Must have a Washington state UBI (tax number) or be willing to get one.

This person must be available mid day (10-3). This position requires a lot of flexibility and the hours may vary. Some weekend and evening work may be required occasionally.

This position would be best suited for someone who doesn't mind a lot of driving has the mid day available to them and wants to make a little extra money.

 
  • Provide weekly in-home pet care including but not limited to leashed walks, off leash socials (up to 3 dogs), puppy potty breaks and socialization, cat care, pet taxi and other small tasks.

  • Ability to make overnight stays at client’s place of residence is a plus.

  • Clean up after pets. May also give oral/topical medications when necessary.

  • Ensure pets are given required amount exercise and playtime.

  • Reporting to Manager on a daily basis.

  • Comply with company policies and procedures at all times.

  • Provide initial consultations with new clients; explain service agreement, care process, and evaluation of pet.

  • Provide first aid on pets when necessary (you will be asked to attend a pet first aid certification course).

  • Gain knowledge of pets and breeds unfamiliar to you, to include cats, dogs, ferrets, rabbits, birds, salt and fresh water fish, rats, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, and many others.

  • Provide direction to clients when presented with questions or concerns about their pets.  

 

Requirements

 
  • 21 years of age or older.

  • Have excellent references.

  • Ability to work flexible hours.

  • Reliable transportation (own car), a valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.

  • Must be able to pass a background check.

  • Be free of allergies to animal hair/dander.

  • A genuine love for animals, and concern for their health, happiness, and well being.

  • Previous experience handling animals.

  • Must be a good listener, have great interpersonal skills, pay attention to detail, be responsible and organized.

  • Strength to control leashed animals over 50 lbs.

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize.
