In Memory Of....
REMEMBERING TAI NILES
Some words from Tai's Mom:
Tai came into my life almost 18 years ago. I found her running down the sidewalk as I was returning from work one dark, rainy evening. Maybe it was fate but she turned and ran up the stone steps leading to my house. I called out to her and she immediately came to me. She was only about two or three months old.
Tai was a beautiful cat with lovely markings. When she was little her whole body was cream colored except for her striped tail. She had blue, slightly squinty eyes, reflecting her Siamese and tabby mix. As she grew older, more stripes appeared on her body and her coat took on brown, fawn and grey markings. She was truly unique and her pictures do not do her justice.
From day one she ruled the household and intimidated my two older cats, Kassundi and Cally. Tai was feisty in her youth and was never a lap cat, huffing and puffing if I tried to hold her. As she matured she mellowed out and became the most affectionate, sweet cat who loved having her tummy rubbed, purring loudly. After Cally left us last September, Tai was a big comfort to me and always wanted to sit on my lap or cuddle beside me in bed.
Tai’s health deteriorated quickly in the last few weeks of her life, and she departed peacefully on January 18, one month short of her 18th birthday. I miss Tai and am grateful for the years I had with her.
